Kentucky Speedway – Nationwide Starting Lineup: Elliott Sadler Tops Qualifying Charts for Nationwide Race; Kyle Busch Wrecks

July 8, 2011 No Comments

Elliott Sadler, who is currently second in the Nationwide point’s standings, will lead the field to green Friday night in the Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

Sadler (173.734) survived one last push from Carl Edwards (173.678) to earn his second pole of the 2011 season, and the second consecutive pole for Kevin Harvick Incorporated.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. qualified third, just behind his Roush Fenway Racing teammate. Last week’s winner Joey Logano qualified fourth with Brad Keselowski rounding out the top five.

Kyle Busch surprised spectators in qualifying as he spun in Turn 4, slamming the outside barrier and heavily damaging the rear-end of his Toyota Camry. Busch will start from the rear of the field in a backup car, but is certainly not to be overlooked. Busch started from the back of the field in the truck race Thursday night (late to driver’s meeting) and went on to win the UNOH 225.

Danny Efland and Carl Long were the only two drivers which failed to qualify.
