Kurt Busch was only the fifth car to qualify on Saturday, but his lap of 174.752 mph was good enough to earn him his first pole of the 2011 season. Busch’s 13th career pole comes almost one year after his 12th, where he topped the charts at Michigan International Speedway on June 13th, 2010.

The pole comes just one week after Brad Keselowski earned the pole for the Coca-Cola 600, making it back-to-back poles for Penske Racing, who continue to search for their first win in 2011.

Juan Pablo Montoya, who already has one pole award in 2011, will fill the front row for Sunday’s STP 400. Three Toyota’s round out the top five with Kyle Busch in third, Brian Vickers in fourth and Joey Logano in fifth.

Tony Raines and T.J. Bell failed to qualify.
