Just days after winning the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 and finishing second in the All-Star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Busch now finds himself in trouble with the law.

The Statesville Record-Landmark reported that Busch was pulled over by the Iredell County Sheriff’s department for going 128 mph in a 45-mph zone, near the town of Troutman, North Carolina.

Busch was not arrested, but was charged with careless and reckless driving, as well as speeding. Busch was driving a yellow Lexus sports-car which was not registered in anyone’s name (manufacturers vehicle).

Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) is aware of the situation but has not yet released a statement.

*When the statement is released, it will be posted below*

Here is Kyle Busch’s statement regarding his excessive speed:
“Today I received a traffic citation in Iredell County. I was test driving a new sports car and I got carried away. I went beyond the speed I should have been going on a public road. I apologize to the public, my fans, sponsors, and race teams for my lack of judgment. I take responsibility for my actions and I can assure you that something like this will never happen again. I thank the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department and all law enforcement for the hard work they do every day to protect the public and to enforce the laws in a fair and equitable manner.”
