Notes

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be back on the track this weekend at Michigan International Speedway after a one week hiatus.

A rain delayed race at Pocono saw Sprint Cup regular and truck owner Kevin Harvick visit victory lane. Johnny Sauter originally held a five point lead over Austin Dillon after his fourth place finish but failed post-race inspection. Sauter was docked 6 points by NASCAR officials after the No. 13 Chevrolet failed to meet the height requirements.

Last year’s pole winner Dillon now leads the points standings heading into Saturday morning’s race at the 2-mile oval shaped track. Sauter (-1), James Buescher (-14), Timothy Peters (-14) and rookie Cole Whitt (-35) round out the top five heading into Michigan.

To nab a solid finish and continue chasing points, the truck regulars must compete against three Sprint Cup regulars. Five time winner in 2011 Kyle Busch will start in his No. 18 Toyota, Harvick in his No. 2 Chevrolet with Mark Martin making his second straight start for Turner Motorsports in the No. 32 Chevrolet.

Defending race winner Aric Almirola will not be defending his title at Michigan due to the Nationwide race taking place in Montreal, Canada at Circut Giles Villeneuve.

Colin Braun, who earned his first career win at Michigan in 2009, will be making his debut this weekend for Billy Ballew Motorsports in the No. 51 truck which Almirola drove to victory lane last year.
