NCWTS: Colin Braun’s Return Is Bitter SweetAugust 19, 2011 No Comments
It seems just like yesterday that we saw a young Colin Braun celebrating in victory lane, but then we come to the realization that it has been two whole years since Braun won at Michigan. Saturday, Braun will have his shot at redemption.
The 22-year-old Braun, former Roush Fenway Racing development driver, has 51 career starts in the series and another 31 career starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
Braun will be racing in the No. 51 Billy Ballew Motorsports “Bullet Liner” Ford. Team owner Billy Ballew started the year in a partnership with Vision Aviation Racing but surprising enough, they have not competed since last April. Ballew has revived his team and will field a Ford this weekend at Michigan International Speedway.
“I’m thrilled to get back behind the wheel of a Ford truck, especially at MIS,” Braun said in a news release. “To do this with a team the caliber of Billy Ballew Motorsports and with Richie Waters as the crew chief, it’s a terrific opportunity.”
The deal is a one-race deal, but Ballew said he hopes the team can run more races with Braun.
Colin Braun’s Career Stats:
NCWTS: 1 win, 12 Top-5′s, 22 Top-10′s, and 5 career poles (51 career starts).
NNS: 0 wins, 1 Top-5, 6 Top-10′s, 2 career poles (31 career starts).Tags: Billy Ballew, Colin Braun, Michigan International Speedway, NCWTSCoverage
