It’s a NASCAR weekend in Miami so that can only mean one thing is going to happen. Rain.

After rain washed away opening practice for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, it wasn’t long until NASCAR made it official that qualifying for tonight’s Ford 200 would also be canceled. It was made official that  James Buescher, winner of the past three pole awards, put his Turner Motorsports Chevrolet in the No. 1 starting spot for tonight’s hopeful season finale as the field was lined up by speeds from this morning’s practice session.

Needing every possible point out there, Buescher finds himself in the best position to do so on the front row. But his championship rivals are not far behind. Both points leader, Austin Dillon, and second place, Johnny Sauter, put their trucks in the fourth and fifth positions respectively for tonight’s race.

Dillon, who needs a sixteenth place finish, regardless of what anyone else does in order to claim his first NASCAR championship, is ‘bringing out all the stops’ this weekend in Miami as his Richard Childress Racing team has built him yet another new truck.

Younger brother, Ty Dillon, who finished P3 two weeks ago at Texas Motor Speedway, will start his No. 21 RCR Chevrolet from the outside of the front row.

Buescher, Ty Dillon, Piquet Jr., Austin Dillon, Sauter, Whitt, Sadler, Harvick, Lofton and Coulter round out the top-10.
