NSCS Starting Lineup at Kansas: Greg Biffle Wins Pole; Roush Fenway Racing Sweeps Front Row

Greg Biffle has won the pole for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, posting a lap of 174.887 mph to earn his second pole of the 2011 season.

“Well, it was a really good lap,” said Biffle following his qualifying run. “The car was really good. I drove down to one and two and the car stuck to the bottom well. The car stuck to the race track really good.”

Biffle, who is the defending race winner at Kansas, bumped his teammate Carl Edwards from the provisional pole with with 11 drivers to go in Friday’s qualifying session. Edwards held on for the outside pole, capturing the fourth front row sweep for Roush Fenway Racing in 2011.

“I am proud of our qualifying effort,” said Edwards. “I am proud that we have an all-Ford front row. There is a lot of pride in that for our guys at the shop.”

Kyle Busch broke up the RFR sweep of the top three starting positions with his third place qualifying effort, edging Matt Kenseth by just .002 seconds. Kasey Kahne qualified fifth.

Paul Menard, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon rounded out the top 10.

Austin Dillon, grandson of Richard Childress and the points leader in the truck series, qualified for his first career Sprint Cup Series race. Dillon, quickest of the go-or-go-homers, qualified 26th.
