Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth the duration of Saturday thanking Mother-Nature, as they benefited the most from the precipitation plagued Martinsville Speedway.

The Roush Fenway Racing teammates, both known for struggling at the paperclip half-mile, will lead the field to green Sunday after rain washed out all track activities Friday and qualifying on Saturday. Per NASCAR rulebook, the starting lineup will be set via owner’s points.

Points leader Edwards not only is the pole-sitter, but will also select the all important No. 1 pit stall.

“I think it’s best-case for us that we get to start on the front row, and even better is the pit stall selection,” said Edwards. “I think that’s gonna last all day no matter how much we have to work on the car or things we have to do, that first pit stall will be great.”
