NSCS: Televised Bristol Race May Vary By AreaAugust 21, 2011 No Comments
Most viewers nationally will be able to see Saturday night’s NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway without a problem on their local ABC affiliate. Having said that, some won’t due to NFL preseason games in some areas, the listings might be a “tad” different.
Instead of having the race on ABC, the Bristol Motor Speedway race will air on ESPN2 in the following television markets:
– Nashville, Tenn.
– Duluth, Minn.
– Rochester, Minn.
– Casper, Wyo.
– Rapid City, S.D.
– Sioux Falls, S.D.
– Weslaco, Texas
If you live near the Houston area, the race will be airing on your local ABC affiliate digital tier station.
This will be extremely disappointing for some race fans, as some don’t have cable in those markets. There are only a couple NASCAR races on actual local network television for the rest of the season, so those viewers who don’t want to pay the extra money for ESPN will have a missed opportunity to see their favorite drivers at a track like Bristol.
If you are upset with the network programming decision, you can always contact your local ABC affiliate, but honestly the NFL is still the “Mac Daddy” sport of America.
This is just a reminder, in case you were expecting to see the race on ABC. Hopefully you will be able to see the race, because Saturday night racing at Bristol is pretty exciting!Tags: Bristol Motor Speedway, Change, NASCAR, Networks, NSCS, TelevisionCoverage
