Richmond International Raceway: Denny Hamlin Dominates the Bubba Burger 250

April 29, 2011 No Comments

Denny Hamlin took his No. 20 Great Clips Toyota to victory lane on Friday evening, scoring his first win of the 2011 season and 11th of his Nationwide career. Hamlin led 199 of the 251 laps to win the Bubba Burger 250, making it two wins in two nights (won his charity race Thursday night).

Paul Menard was unable to make the pass for the lead and had to settle for second while cars spun and brought out the caution behind them – after the white flag was waved. Justin Allgaier, Elliott Sadler and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top five.

Aric Almirola was originally scored in fifth place but was penalized for speeding off pit road to stay on the lead lap. NASCAR ended up scoring Almirola in 14th position, placing him at the tail end of the field – one lap down.
