Trevor Bayne’s return to NASCAR has been put on hold for another week while he continues to recover from lingering symptoms suffered in late April.

Wood Brothers Racing and Roush Fenway Racing both withdrew their entries into their respective races and will have no replacement drivers for Bayne.

Bayne has been absent from NASCAR since his sixth place finish at Nashville, missing a total of three NASCAR Nationwide races (Richmond, Darlington, Dover).

“Although we would like for Trevor to be on the track this weekend, we want to make sure that he is fully back to prime condition before he goes out to compete with the best drivers in the world,” Roush Fenway president Steve Newmark said. “His symptoms have improved tremendously, but we’re still not all the way back to where we want to be.”

No statements have been released on whether Bayne will race in next weekend’s Nationwide race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Disappointing to see Trevor Bayne still out, but his health is definitely the priority. Looking forward to seeing him back on the track.
